Disable QuickBooks Custom Transaction Numbers

When exporting CounterGo Orders to QuickBooks Online the first time, you may encounter an error that the Invoice could not be exported because Custom Transaction Numbers are enabled in Quickbooks. The Custom Transaction Numbers must be disabled in QuickBooks Online.

This error only occurs with QuickBooks Online, not the desktop version.

If Custom Transaction Numbers are not disabled before exporting from CounterGo, or after you receive this error message. custom transaction numbers error message

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Click on the New button from the left menu > Invoice.
  3. Click the Settings icon, a small gear icon, in the upper right corner of the Invoice and uncheck Custom Transaction Numbers.
  4. Cancel by clicking the "X" icon in the upper right corner of the Settings box, then cancel again to close the empty Invoice.
  5. Return to CounterGo and click the Confirm Invoice button.
